Perceive founder Steve Burks moved to Texas from Gary, Indiana in 2004. He studied music and film at Indiana University, and was a finalist in the 2004 Script Magazine/Benderspink Talent Agency Contest, the Vibe/Levi's 501 Talent Search, and the 2004 Grammy/ASCAP Demo Review Panel & Contest in Indianapolis. Steve's screenplay, "In the Key of Life," earned top 20% ranking among submissions to the 2007 Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. A Grammy Texas chapter member, and an affiliate of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance, Steve plans to follow the lead of writer/directors such as Robert Rodriguez and M. Night Shyamalan, by producing films extensively at the local level.
